The dashboard

The page you land on after signing in, its menu, the Overview cards, notifications, your account menu, language and theme.

The dashboard is everything outside the map editor: your projects, products, profile and plan. It opens on the Overview page, which takes you back to your recent work in one click and shows what is new in the app.

The dashboard with the menu on the left and the Overview page

The screen#

  • The menu, on the left, takes you to each part of the dashboard.
  • The top bar has the menu button, the logo (which brings you back to the dashboard from anywhere), the name of the page, and on the right the help, notifications and account buttons.
  • The page fills the rest.

On a phone the menu is hidden: press  Menu at the top left to open it. On a computer the same button folds the menu down to its icons, to leave more room for the page; point at an icon to see its name.

At the top of the menu are your name and your current plan. Below them:

Item What it is for
Overview The start page described below.
Projects All your projects and folders, and the ones shared with you. See the Projects page.
Profile & account Your name and picture, password, two-factor authentication, units and notifications. See profile and security.
Subscription Your plan, payment methods and invoices. It opens its own sections while you are in it. See subscription and billing.
Products The products and prices you use in estimates. See products.
About What's new, the website, contact with support and the legal pages.

Some items only appear for some accounts:

  • Subscription is not shown to members of an organisation, whose plan and billing the organisation manages.
  • Under Advanced, Enterprise appears for the owner of an Enterprise plan and for the organisation's Admins, and Developer appears on an active Open Guest or Enterprise plan. See organisation and API keys.

If you belong to an organisation, its name and logo are shown in a bar across the top of the dashboard.

The dashboard menu with the language, theme and cookie settings at the bottom

Language and theme#

At the bottom of the menu:

  •  Language switches the whole app between English, Español, Deutsch, Français, Português, Русский, 日本語, हिन्दी and Bahasa Indonesia. The choice is saved to your account.
  • Theme sets the app's colours: Classic or one of nine others.
  • Light, Dark and System choose the light or the dark version of the theme; System follows your device's setting. The theme and this choice are remembered by this browser, and stay when you sign out. See colour theme.
  • Cookie settings reopens your cookie choices. See privacy and cookies.

You can change the language, the theme and the cookie choices inside a project too, in the map editor's settings.

The Overview page#

The page greets you by name and has New project at the top, which opens the new project dialog on the Projects page. Under the greeting, a row of figures sums up the projects you have: how many there are, their Total area, how many Polygons and Spots they hold, and how many are Shared. Press the number of projects to go to them.

The cards below it:

  • Recent projects lists the last four projects you opened, with when you opened them. Press one to open it in the map editor, or All projects to see the rest. A project where an Open Guest visitor has asked for an estimate carries an Estimate request badge.
  • What's new shows the latest changes to the app, one at a time. They turn by themselves until you press or move between them with the arrows or the dots. Read more opens the full note, and See all updates lists every update.
  • Tip of the day shows one tip, chosen for the way you use the app. See tips.
  • Current plan shows your plan and its state, with the button you most likely need next and Change plan. On the Open Guest plan it also shows this period's spend; on the Enterprise plan, the seats in use. Members of an organisation see the organisation and their role instead. See plans.
  • Features to try suggests up to three things you have not tried yet, such as sharing a project or turning on two-factor authentication. Each disappears once you have done it, or when you press  Dismiss.
  • Help & support links to this help centre, a video tutorial and Contact support.
The What's new and Tip of the day cards

Tips#

The Tip of the day card changes every day. Press  Next tip for another one now. Most tips have a link that takes you straight to the feature.

In its  More options menu:

  • Don't show this tip again hides the tip you are reading for good.
  • Turn off tips hides the card. To bring it back, press Show tips again in the Help & support card.

Notifications#

The bell at the top right shows a number when something new has happened: a comment on your project, a project shared with you, a billing event or a change in your organisation.

Press the bell to see the list. Opening it clears the number; the items you have not opened yet stay marked until you press them, or press Mark all as read.  Notification settings takes you to the page where you choose which notifications you get. See notifications.

The same bell is in the map editor's top toolbar, so you can read what arrives while you work on a project.

The notifications list open under the bell

Help and your account#

  •  Help opens a menu with Help, which opens this help centre, and Contact support, which lets you write to the support team from inside the app. See contacting support.
  • Your picture opens the account menu: your name, company and email, with Profile and Sign out. See signing in.
