The Projects page

Find, open and create your projects on the Projects page, as a grid, a list or on a map, and see each project's figures in its overview.

Every measurement you make lives in a project, and every project is saved to the cloud as you work. The Projects page lists all of them: your own and the ones others share with you. From here you open a project, create a new one, and keep them in order.

The Projects page in grid view, with folders above the project cards

To get there, press Projects in the dashboard menu. From inside a project, press (Menu) at the top left of the map and choose Projects.

Create a project#

  1. Press the round button in the bottom-right corner.
  2. Choose New project.
  3. Type a Project title (up to 50 characters) and, if you like, a Description.
  4. Press Save.

The new project appears in the list, in the folder you are in. Click it to open it and start measuring. New projects are private: only you can see them until you share them. They start with your default product, if you have one.

The same button also creates a Folder, and, once you have templates, starts New project from a template: see organising projects. It is not there in the trash, nor while search results are showing.

New project from an .mmp file makes a project out of a Measure Map file: pick the .mmp file, check the name (the project name in the file, else the file's own name) and press Save. The project opens with what the file holds already in it, as an import brings it in. A file that is not a .mmp is refused before any project is made.

Open a project#

Click a project's card or row to open it on the map. In grid view, hover over a card and press (Open project), or press for its menu.

A project's menu ( or ) has everything you can do with it:

  • Overview: its figures, dates and people (see below).
  • Rename, Move, Duplicate, Save as template and Remove: see organising projects.
  •  Share: see sharing projects.
  • Export MMP: downloads the project as an .mmp file. See exporting.

Grid, list or map#

Press the layout button next to the sort buttons (, or , showing the current one) and choose:

  • Grid: a card per project, with its map picture. A card shows Mine on your own projects, the project's access level in the top corner, and how many polygons, spots and members it has. Estimate request marks an Open Guest project whose visitor asked for an estimate.
  • List: a row per project, with its shapes, measured area, estimate, members and when it was last opened. The heading adds up the area and the estimates of the projects listed, one total per currency.
  • Map view: your projects on a map (see below). In an organisation it also shows the teams' territories: see see which ground each team covers.

The page remembers your choice.

Search, sort and filter#

  • Search: press (Search projects & folders) and type. The search looks through the names and descriptions of all your projects, in every folder, and shows the results as a list; in the map view, the map shows only the projects that match. Press to clear it.
  • Sort: press (Sort by) and choose Last open, Creation date or Title. The arrow beside it ( or ) turns the order round.
  • Dates: the From – To range in the toolbar shows only the projects created between two dates. Press (Clear date filter) at the end of the range to show them all again.
  • Shared with me: in the menu, shows only the projects other people shared with you. A bar at the top says the filter is on; press Back to projects to leave it.

In an Enterprise organisation there is more:

  •  Filter by team shows the projects of one team. See teams and territories.
  •  All organization projects lists every project in the organisation, in one flat list. It is there for the organisation's owner and for members with the Admin or Manager role.
  • They also see My Enterprise, the members of the organisation: click one to see their projects. See teams and territories for the badge that marks projects on the same site.

The map view#

Map view shows each project where its shapes are, from every folder. Projects close to each other are grouped into a numbered circle. The map shows what the list would: in the trash, your templates or Shared with me, only those projects, and in the trash greyed out.

The map view with project clusters, one project's card open and the date range slider
  • Click a project's picture to see its card: name, access level, shapes, members and dates, with Open and the menu.
  • Click a numbered circle to list the projects in it. Pick one to go to it, or press (Zoom in on these).
  • Drag the ends of the Date range slider to show only the projects created between two dates. resets it.
  • The buttons on the left:  Focus on recent goes to your latest projects,  Fit all projects shows them all, and  Near me lists the 8 projects closest to where you are (your browser asks for your location first).

A project appears on the map once it has at least one shape: an empty project has no place yet.

A project's overview#

Choose Overview in a project's menu to see everything about it without opening it:

  • its access level, name, client and description;
  • its Estimate (with the tax, when there is any), Total area, and the number of Polygons and Spots;
  • for an Open Guest project, the visitor who asked for an estimate, with their name, email, phone and message;
  • when it was created, modified and last opened, and whether comments are on;
  • its Teams and Members, with the Owner marked.
A project's overview with its estimate, area, dates and members

Press Open project to open it. Inside a project, the same overview is under  Menu > Project overview.

The figures on the cards and in the overview are updated whenever someone works on the project.
